Description: An overview of pen and ink materials and how to use them: changeable nib dip pens, sumi brushes, various inks, and the paper that is best suited for them. We will draw and experiment with our pen, brush, and ink materials. If you like to keep an art journal of notes and sketches, this class can enhance your creative expression.
What you will learn/make: Participants will learn the differences between the various liquid inks used for drawing and the various papers that can be used with them. Participants will make several examples of ink line and wash drawings.
Materials we will provide: dip pens, brushes, inks, and paper.
Materials you can bring: a notebook or sketch book to practice your drawings in.
Instructor: Betsy Renfrew is a CAN-NC Campus artist who loves upcycling old things and transforming them into new and exciting art. She has worked with diverse populations and encourages individuals to move at their own pace.
