Arts Unbound Festival: An Open House & Celebration of Older Americans Month

Creative Aging Network-NC (CAN-NC) will host its First Annual Arts Unbound Festival: An Open House & Celebration of Older Americans Month on Saturday, May 6th from 10am-4pm. There will be Campus and Studio Tours all day, a Native American Blessing of the Land, A 50+ Art Exhibition with over 70 pieces of art by 24 artists, Demonstrations, Free Art Sessions, Live Music, Vendor Booths, Free Refreshments and More! This is a rain or shine event.
Special Guest Ray Silva, Laguna-Pueblo artist, will perform a Native American Blessing of the Land at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 6th, during our First Annual Arts Unbound Festival. He is a well-known artist in the area who is an enrolled member of the Laguna-Pueblo Tribe from New Mexico. A Member of the Guilford Native American Association. A traditional Pow Wow Dancer & Singer. A traditional flute player. A traditional visual artist (leather work such as concho belts, dream catchers, mandalas, and medicine wheels). And, he has lived in Greensboro for more than 20 years with his wife and fellow artist, Brenda Silva.

Artists 50+ were invited to participate in a community art show in celebration of Older Americans Month. Original works of art (both 2-D and 3-D) will be on view until May 31st. Most of the artists will be in attendance to represent their work during the festival on May 6th.
