The Area Agency on Aging at PTRC is currently taking requests from nonprofit organizations for face coverings for nonprofit staff and volunteers, as described below.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has partnered with National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (National VOAD)  to provide face coverings for employees of non-profits across NC.  National VOAD is a non-profit association with affiliates in every State and Territory.  National VOAD members are coordinating efforts in order to ensure they are doing everything they can to assist in the response to COVID- 19.

The NC Division of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS) asked regional Area Agencies on Aging to coordinate efforts to secure face coverings for our network.  The face coverings provided are 100% cotton and contain silver and copper, which help prevent the growth of viruses and germs, washable and adult one-size fits all. These are to be used for the non-profit’s operations and not to be sold or given away to clients/survivors/seniors/program participants.

At a minimum  125,000 face coverings will be shipped.   Shipments take approximately 10-15 days to arrive from the time they are processed.  If you would like to request face coverings for your agency staff and volunteers complete the attached form and return to Yolanda Davenport at

Let’s keep working together to get our clients, our organizations and our communities what they need.
